Inside Edge Timing
Privacy policy
A plain-language explanation of the information used by Inside Edge Timing and the choices available to you.
Summary
Inside Edge Timing is designed to work without an Inside Edge Studios account. The current version does not include advertising, third-party analytics or cross-app tracking, and Inside Edge Studios does not sell personal information.
Timing sessions, stopwatch records, settings and training history are stored locally on your device. Information leaves the app only when you deliberately use an iOS sharing feature or contact support.
Information used by the app
Profile and personalisation
If you enter a first or last name, the app uses it to personalise parts of the interface. This value is stored locally on the device and is not submitted to an Inside Edge Studios account or cloud database.
Session plans and preferences
The app may store your interval presets, session names, activity choices, cue and haptic preferences, lactate-threshold heart rate and other operational settings locally so they remain available when you next open the app.
Training history
Completed-session records can include dates and times, sport or activity category, durations, set and interval completion, perceived-effort ratings and notes that you enter. Stopwatch records can include lap notes and, in Finishers mode, competition details, race numbers, athlete names or bib identifiers. This information is stored locally on your device.
Bluetooth heart-rate data
With your permission, Inside Edge Timing uses Bluetooth to discover and connect to compatible heart-rate monitors that expose the standard Bluetooth Heart Rate Service. Live beats-per-minute data is used to display heart rate and relative LTHR training-zone context during use.
The app does not require location information to calculate heart rate, and Inside Edge Studios does not receive your live heart-rate data through an account or company-operated server. Heart-rate and zone information is for fitness context only and is not medical advice.
Sharing and support
Information you choose to share
Workout reports and finish results can be passed to the standard iOS share sheet. The app initiates this only after your action. The destination you select—such as Mail, Messages, Files or another app—handles that information under its own terms and privacy practices.
Information you send to support
If you email Inside Edge Studios, we receive the address and information you include in the message. We use it to answer the enquiry, investigate a reported problem and maintain reasonable support records. Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive or health information.
Data sales, advertising and analytics
Inside Edge Studios does not sell personal information collected through Inside Edge Timing. The current version does not contain third-party advertising SDKs, create advertising profiles, track you across other companies’ apps and websites, or use third-party product-analytics SDKs.
Storage, retention and security
App information described above remains locally on your device until you change or remove it, reset relevant settings or delete the app. The current version can retain a limited number of recent session-history entries. Device backups are controlled through your Apple and device settings.
Support correspondence is retained only as reasonably needed to respond, keep an appropriate support record, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, but Inside Edge Studios aims to minimise the information it receives and retain only what is useful.
Your choices
- You can deny or later disable Bluetooth access in iOS or iPadOS Settings.
- You can choose not to enter a name, LTHR value, athlete identifiers, notes or perceived-effort scores.
- You control whether a report or result is shared and which destination receives it.
- You can remove locally stored app information by deleting the app. Depending on your device configuration, an Apple-managed backup may retain a copy.
Children and supervised use
The app may be used by coaches or organisations in sporting environments that include young athletes. Coaches, officials and other adults are responsible for entering, handling and sharing athlete names, bib numbers or notes appropriately and in accordance with their organisation’s safeguarding and privacy responsibilities. Inside Edge Timing is not designed to create child accounts or collect children’s information through an Inside Edge Studios service.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the app develops, particularly if accounts, cloud synchronisation, analytics, payments or additional external services are introduced. The “Last updated” date identifies the current published version.
