Inside Edge Ride
Privacy policy
A plain-language explanation of how Inside Edge Ride handles information.
Summary
Inside Edge Ride is designed to work without creating an account. Inside Edge Studios does not use the app to sell personal information or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
Information used by the app
Bluetooth devices
With your permission, the app uses Bluetooth to discover and communicate with compatible smart trainers and heart-rate monitors. Device readings are used to provide ride metrics and trainer controls. The identifier of a remembered trainer may be stored locally on your device to make reconnection easier.
Training values and preferences
Values and settings you enter or select, including training preferences, may be stored locally on your device so the app can retain them between sessions. Inside Edge Studios does not currently operate an account system or cloud database for this information.
Information you choose to send
If you contact support by email, we receive the information you include in your message and use it to respond to your request.
External content and services
The app may connect directly to third-party services to retrieve cycling news and downloadable workout content. At present, these include The Guardian for a cycling RSS feed and Dropbox for workout downloads. Those providers may receive technical information normally sent with an internet request, such as your IP address and device or network information, and handle it under their own privacy policies.
The app may also open external websites in your browser. Your use of those sites is governed by their respective privacy policies.
Data sharing and retention
Inside Edge Studios does not sell personal information. Locally stored app data remains on your device unless you remove it through the app, reset relevant settings or delete the app. Support correspondence is retained only as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain support records and meet legal obligations.
Children’s privacy
Inside Edge Ride is not designed to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to Inside Edge Studios, please contact us so it can be addressed.
Your choices
You can control Bluetooth permission in iOS Settings. You can remove locally stored app information by deleting the app. You can choose not to use features that retrieve third-party news or workout content.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the app or its services change. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.
